Sail in ship of ambition and anchor at harbour of success

Namma IAS Bangalore

Hi people ,

Its great pleasure of mine to introduce you to a innovative and revolutionary concept of “Namma IAS“, Bangalore .

Here are the  problems of aspirants in Bangalore .

1. I am a well paid techie , I cannot leave the job for prepearation , But my dreams are of IAS . What should I do ?

As a software developer at one of the most prestigious MNC in Bangalore this was the first question which bugged me . I too looked around for solutions . The obvious solutions in Bangalore are

a) JSS

b) Rao

c) Himalaya

So I first joined JSS

2. How is JSS ?

JSS has had some name now ..based on which I joined .The professors are good but the problem is no exam orientation . Ask any senior in JSS this is the answer they give .And dont go by advertisements . Coz if you carefully observe the statements of them , they would have invariably been to Dlehi after JSS .

This was the same problem I experienced . “NO EXAM ORIENTATION” which is the most essential for this kind of exams .

But I would like to add good words on two teachers specially here

1. Dr Abdul Aziz(Economics Professor)

2.Prof Jeevan Kumar ( Pub Ad)– The problem is he comes only on Sunday ..so not much justice can be done to the subject .

Summary

Good for orientation but not for preperation

2. The Malleshwaram Rao’s Weekend Batches

After JSS you ll get the feeling of incompleteness and join Rao’s . Rao is a retd IAS officer . Good for sociology . Pub Ad he s good enough ..BUT

The pblm with weekend batch is they r shrinking the 225hr lecture pgm into a 48hr lecture pgm . N if you calculate the cost/hr then the cost/hr in Bangalore far exeeds what you pay in delhi . ( 28k /225hr) Rao( 10k/48hr)

I guess you r getting the pblm ..These exams need a sustained effort than effort in burbs .

3. Himalaya

Himalaya is the other extreme of JSS . Here there is a guy called Keshava and he is the mai baap of them . But he is neither an IAS nor a IAS aspirant ..He is studying for teaching so i guess u can understand the teaching there or depth of knowledge there .But he conducts tests etc .. But again Not much use

So the above is the scenario of IAS coaching centres in Banaglore . Then people leave to Delhi .For which one will have to leave the city – job etc ..

Problems of Non- Working People

The problem is the hige fees and cost of living . In delhi I  found few friends who had sold their ancestral land to pay the fees of the coaching institute and living in Delhi . After paying huge amounts also you are not sure if you are clearing the exams or not . So they are under additonal pressure of proving their worth coz everything is at stake and if things turn topsy tury they are subhected to further humiliation by their own parents/husbands etc who had financed their stay .

Solutions

To fulfill this huge gap I am propunding this “NAMMA INSTITUTE” which works on “NAMMA PHILOSOPHY” .

1. For Working techies

You can join the “Early Morning” ( 5:30-7:30) or “Late Night”( 7:30 – 9:30) batches . This will give you the continuty and consistency in your preperation and also we offer module wise courses .So if you are strong in a particular module you dont have to sit through that module ( Most science students strong in QA for UPSC so nodt advised to join)

2. The best in the industry

Keep checking this website where I will keep hosting the videos which will help you to understand the subjects better. We also have liasoning with some leading institutions in Delhi .

3.Pay By Time if not Money

For those who are non – working can choose to pay by TIME instead of MONEY . If they devote their 3hrs of time per day to the institute , based on your skill sets Institute will utilise your time for

1. Commercial purpose and /or

2. Social Purpose

So in short if you work for 3 hrs a day with our institution , you can attend the classes without paying fees .

Support

Now if you too subscribe to this “NAMMA” philosophy of inclusive growth , you can contribute by helping “NAMMA INSTITUTION ” help you in some of the folllowing ways

1. If you are buying a insurance , do it through NAMMA

2. If you  have any real estate purchase / sell do it through NAMMA

3. If you have any other idea for the workforce to be productive wirte to us @ nammaias@gmail.com

In this Portal i saw some useless candidates comments, due to their personal problem unable to learn from himalai IAS centre. Again candidate should understand that coaching institutes and teachers are like home and Parents. Candidates are like childrens.
Institute and teachers will provide all type of assistance but students should learn. Their work is to show us the path but the walking has to be done by us. Looser will seek security but a winner will use opportunity. Don’t be a looser.

Hello Everyone, I believe it is my moral responsibility to inform you all regarding the treacherous means used to deceive civil services aspirants like myself by the numerous coaching institutes throughout the country. A case in particular is Global IAS Academy, Bangaore, where i took a full year coaching for UPSC civil services exam. Before I begin, let me inform you, there will be attempts to tag me as an agent of any other institute, which I am not, as u will see I won’t be using any other name for advertising. I would also advise you, not to get carried away by what I say and do a bit of research from your end to confirm the genuineness, which you can easily do after interacting with the ex-students of the institute. I have ended up losing a lot of hard earned money and more importantly a great deal of time which you should be cautious about. The only thing that I gained from the institute, was the company of a few friends who like me were serious about preparation. It gave us a platform to analyze our lacunae and help each other for preparation of the exam.
To begin with, let’s talk of the advertising campaign. On their website you can find claims of 100% result. Give me a break! Are you insane? 100% result!!! Guys, speak to any sensible person, associated with IAS coaching regarding this and you can gauge the plausibility. A blatant hoax. On the website you will find information like dedicated user ID and password for accessing online practice test series, which we never got. In fact there was just one test, what they called mock test, before the prelims. An interesting feature about that was there were about half the number of question expected in the UPSC exam to be completed in full allotted time. That is how I came to know the meaning of mock test? I hope you are enlightened as well.
The director or whatever he claims to be of the institute, Dr. Mani, says he is a MBBS degree holder, which I seriously doubt. There have been numerous instances where his teachings would defy logic. You don’t have to be a medical student to realize that. Even your knowledge of biology of the intermediate level would be in contrast to what he teaches. He also claims that he had qualified civil service exam a few years back with a rank of 400 and something. Interact with him for an hour, try to analyze his personality and you will know the truth. His grammar will be all over the place. Honestly, if people like him qualify for IAS, I would doubt the credibility of UPSC.
In the institute, you have classes not according to the exam requirement but according to the availability of the faculties which again depends on luck. Will you believe me if I say that we had just one class each for history and current affairs in the entire year? Please confirm with other ex-students if you don’t. There are a few, including himself, master faculties. They consider themselves to be all-rounder, good in all subjects. Be it any class, if they don’t find the assigned faculty, they themselves will be ready next moment as substitutes. What a shame! Isn’t there anything called quality? You are teaching UPSC civil services aspirants, not school students. However, not everything is as bad. The faculty for geography is very knowledgeable and would go to any extent to help the student understand the concepts. Same goes for the faculty of public ad, but only when he teaches Public Ad. The most unique thing about them is their store of loads of practical examples. I am not referring to Mani, who also teaches Public Ad at times.
If I take up each and every topic for discussions like infrastructure (other than the present Koramangala branch), study materials, topic wise distributions of classes, etc., there will be no end. There were no posts or blogs to guide me when I was making my decision. Also, I didn’t get a chance to interact with other students. That is how I got trapped. So, I request all you readers, to please update everyone regarding your experiences. I had to join the institute because of some commitments to stay in bangalore. I had no options then. But if you guys do, then think about it, consider all the ramifications. All the best.

In response to these posts, one person(I hope on behalf of himalaya) wrote good opinions on april 16, 2011( 11:28, 11:38 and 11:52 pm) consecutively. This brings that these are not true opinion. SOMEONE has to pull out the reality. Suggestions are welcome. BTW, i’m also like u searching for good ( at least not bad) IAS institution. Suggestions are deeply welcomed. -BT
