After all its a life which u live !!
In IAS, Life on March 11, 2008 at 2:15 pmWe are humans .. a life span of 100 years … In this span of 100 years .. More than 90% spend their 20 + studying n another 20 yrs enabling their kids to study … U reach retirment by then … so retire n spend another few last years thinking what I have done so far ??
Coming to what one has done … A life can be said succesful if u can enable another hazaar lives live better .. Who are the guys whom you remember ??
1> Politicians : They make their way to ur memory irrespective of u like it or not !! Coz thats the way how they survive
2> Actors : Coz they entertain u when u have had a fight ur wife !!
Very few remember the people who are behind the scenes !! You code for Google , sell soaps for HUL or become a civil servant .. all that matters is what u did for the community or how you have affected the lives of the people . I hope everyone agrees to me that “affecting / changing lives of people” is the most dignified work ever possible .
Now the question arise whose life you want to change ?
- People who are already making money .. You can help them to move from x to x power x .
- People who are in abject poverty . They dont have two meals a day .
I was once asked if there ever existed such people who do not have two meals a day !! Unfortunately India is a nation of pluralism , at one extreme we are the major inventors of software for US and at the other extreme more than 50% of India do not have proper drinking water !!
There is again a critical balance to be striked out .. Personal vs public . How much of life would you devote for public , n how well u manage personal is a big challenge
When will u be yourself ??
In Life on January 24, 2008 at 6:29 pmI am tiered of impressing .. impressing the unimpressed and depressing the impressed !Ah .. feels bad ..
But I need to say I have been lucky enough to make my decisions . And all what i have done or what I am are because soley of my decisons ..( Thanks to my parents for it) .
But again we are the “lost” souls ..
“Why did I study in 6th??” —– To impress the unimpressed teacher
” Why did I study in 7th??” —- To get my name on school board
” Why did I study in 10th??” — To make my parents proud
“Why did I study in 12th??” — To impress my lectures n some pretty chicks .
” Why did I study in engg?” — To maintain my image as a ‘nerd’
” Why I am working “? –coz they pay me
When should I think of myself ?? Whole of my life I have thought “what others feel of me” … But the real enlightment is “What u feel of urself”? I feel lots of us here in urban jungle have lost the real enlightment .
IIM vs IAS vs Software Engineer

Well myself am a Software Engineer at Adobe in Bangalore , When you compare this development life , the progress here is difficult , you need to be a very good engineer compare to a moderate engineer and a good communicator in services !! What u get is some components , design and develop and ya u get ur weekends , go be a happy guy witha wife n few kids .
Now you start to trade , and you suddenly feel u r a born “trader” !! You become intrested in finance and think of an MBA In this sector if u join as a fresher u most probably end up being in an ibank where u need to work 16 hrs a day and alternate Saturday’s . You can join them even as a undergraduate but u generally join as a “Analyst” and if u want to become an “Associate” you need a stint with a B-School . Even most of B-School grads retire as a n Associate . Still you are not the “decision” maker . To be the decison maker you need to be an “MD” but most of them retire at Associate level .
Here the crowd is young … n u retire early compared to a Software job .
Now turning to IAS , you are the decison maker !!! You get Authority to drive the projects that change lives of people . But pay is less , but u get the perks . What do u earn for ?? You need to pay House EMI , car EMI etc .. If u get these then is’nt the pay competitive . You join IPS .. you get to ride horses !! the royal life .. After all what does money get you ??You get a power with money ..If that power is given by Authority , its great !!
Dont be in any illusion !! Its ur life u need to decide

Why men are sexually agressive than women ??
In Life, Psychology on January 20, 2008 at 6:54 pmWell Its pretty natural experience to see guys staring at “hot” girls anywhere and everywhere . Even biologically women disposes only one egg every month , but men millions of sperms !! Well why are men agressive ?? And why do men love to have sex with more women , compared to women seeking multiple partners ??
Almost 99% of men mastrubates compared to 40% women . This numbers shows the fact that “men want sex more “
As Darwins evolution theory goes , the objective of any organism on earth is reproduction . If any species is stronger then that survives over the others . So strong men try to have as many offspring as possible in his lifetime , So he seeks relationship with many women . But on the other hand for women , irrespective of how many men she has relationships she can bear only fixed number of offsprring . So her main motivation would be to attract the “strong” guy to feed her offspring !!
Well the story does not stop here .. Men are suspicious !!
A man cant take their girl speak to another “man” generally . There are certain sperms which sit on egg and make sure that “other man’s” sperm does not enter the egg !! And intrestingly research proves that the percentage of sperms grow significantlly when the guy is away from girl by miles !!
So why blame men ?? blame the nature !!

What am I doing ??
In Life on January 17, 2008 at 5:09 pmI always wonder is this the right thing to do?? Sit before a comp n develop some component … so that it ll help people , sophisticated prople to do some things easier !!
Every day n every night , the thought that goes through me is ..”Hey is this why I am on this earth ??”
God Knows . But ya definitely my future lies elsewhere other than the software industry I think .
